Review | The body shop body butters and lotions

I've been using the body shop body butters for years, I remember my sister in law didn't like the scent of one and handed it to me and I fell in love! one thing I don't love is the price tag, at £13 for a 200ml tub, I personally wouldn't buy it, but luckily the body shop always have offers on their body butters and I can usually pick them up for around £5 a tub, which is a much better price which i'm happy to pay!
the scents I currently have are Chocomania, Shea butter, Almond and Raspberry (Which i'm saving for summer!) I've just finished the coconut scent and making my way through Chocomania, although it's starting to smell a bit heavy (It smells like double chocolate chip cookies) and i'm getting more into fruity scents and this is more of a winter scent. I apply these after a bath or shower before bed and when I wake up in the morning my skin is so smooth I can't stop stroking my legs! I haven't yet come across a scent which I don't like, and around Christmas time they bring out more spicy seasonal scents.

I also own two of the full size body lotions in Peach vineyard and Vanilla which smell absolutely gorgeous, I use these in the morning and i can still smell them on my body in the evening, they linger around all day and they sink in extremely fast and leave me all nice and soft at £8 a bottle i don't mind paying full price, because they last ages and I think are worth the money
Obviously the body lotions sink in faster than the body butters because they have a lot thinner consistency  the body butters are extremely thick and luxurious.

Have you tried any of the body shop body butter? whats your favorite scent?

FOTD | Everyday Makeup

So, this is my first "Face of the day" post, exciting eh? usually when it comes to doing my makeup on a day-to-day basis I change up my eye shadow and blush regularly, but I've been wearing this look religiously for the past couple of weeks! although now that's its getting warmer and it's spring I might lighten up my eye shadow and keep the dark colours for night time wear!
Lately I've been sticking to high coverage foundations because my skin was playing up a bit, but even now that it's cleared up i'm still enjoying using my good old trusty mac studio fix fluid! it covers most of my flaws so easily and makes me feel good! Generally on a daily basis i won't wear lipstick, just a lip balm because personally it's too much hassle for me and i'm lazy.
All products I have used and prices will be listed at the end of the blog post

Review | Soap and glory whipped clean shower butter

Soap & Glory whipped clean shower butter (£8.00)
I picked this up in Boots because they were doing an offer, if you spend £10 on selected soap and glory you get a free full size Butter yourself up body butter (£10.50)... so of course I had to do it, right? i've been eyeing this up for a couple of weeks now and decided to take the plunge, okay £8 for a shower butter/gel/wash seems a little steep for me, but I can say that i'll be 100% repurchasing this when it's finished.

Now, let me tell you something... this stuff smells amazing, it's the same scent as the Smoothie Star body lotion which smells oaty and sweet, not everyone's a fan of this so make sure you give it a sniff before you buy it! Soap & Glory nailed it right on the head where it says "shower butter" this stuff is SO moisturizing! I simply lathered this up all over my body and stepped out of the water for a minute or so, when I washed it off it made my skin feel so soft and smooth I couldn't believe it! I didn't need to whack on a moisturizer after I got out the shower! This will be the perfect companion for me when I can't be bothered to moisturize after showering, this little beauty has now taken it's rightful place in my shower and will remain there until it's finished and I can repurchase it!

Haul | Boots and Superdrug

I have been off from work and college and have done nothing apart from sit in my bedroom with the curtains closed, reading with a candle burning... so today i decided to venture into the big wide world and go shopping! My plan was to go into Primark and buy a few new bits and bobs... but only ended up with socks and jewelry (You can't leave Primark without some socks and jewelry, right?)

When I went into Superdrug... I was amazed, I was never a fan as my local Superdrug's never stocked massive amounts of exciting makeup, but this time it was completely revamped and had a Sleek, Mua etc.. counters, everything! I've never tried anything from sleek before and ran straight there and I nearly brought everything. but instead picked up the blush in "Coral" (£4.49) ... and decided to restrict myself there before I dropped a bomb on my bank account, but i'll most definitely be back. As I was queuing up, I spied batiste (£1.45) were half price and couldn't resist picking up the tropical scent (mmm, coconut!)

Next up was boots, a place where I spent too much time and money.. since running out of my Liz Earle cleanse and polish, and my NSPA hot cloth cleanser I decided to try something else and went for the Soap and Glory Fab pore hot cloth cleanser (£10) but boots currently have an offer on where it's buy one get one half price on selected S&G products, so I picked up the No clogs allowed deep pore detox mask (£5.50)

I also repurchased my current favorite mascara, Maybeline volume rocket express (£7.99) I've wanted it since I saw Brogantatexo mention it in a video and I've been in love since, and i haven't touched any of my other mascaras!

I couldn't resist not purchasing the Revlon nearly naked foundation (£8.99) after hearing all of the hype about it, and I had a £2 off Revlon voucher... snazzy! I'm not really a fan of low coverage foundation but i'm becoming more comfortable in my skin and thought this would be lovely for spring/summer when you don't want a whole face full of makeup!

Finally... another revlon lip butter (£7.99) in one of the new shades "Juicy Papaya" not only does the colour match my current nails, it's a beautiful coral  pink which i couldn't resist... I also have strawberry shortcake, which I have used to death and candy apple, so hopefully i will get a lot of wear out of my new shade!

Have you purchased any of these items recently, what are your thoughts?

Monthly Favorites | March

Rimmel wake me up foundation - £8.99 (Boots)

I've been reaching for this little beauty over my normal foundation mac studio fix fluid (NC20) in an attempt
to make myself look more awake and dewy and I really love this foundation, it's medium coverage and
feels light on your skin, I'm in the shade soft beige.

The body Shop vanilla body lotion - £8 (No longer available)

I'm surprised I haven't got a spoon and started eating this stuff yet, it smells soo good. the bottle says
"luxurious skin softening with warm vanilla scent" and I 100% agree, it's a sweet smell that isn't too over
powering which lingers on the skin all day and leaves you soft and moisturized without being too heavy

Macadamia healing hair oil treatment - £13.99 (Amazon)

I stopped using this for a few days and noticed my hair was getting unruly and looking dull, so I decided
To use it again one night and I've gotten back into the routine of running this through my hair after every
wash and it's made such a difference, my hair looks softer and sleeker. I'm currently half way through
this bottle and it has lasted me months, i'll be repurchasing when it's finished

Maybeline eye studio lasting drama gel liner - £7.99 (Boots)

For the last few months I've gotten more confident with my appearance and stopped wearing so much
make up on a day-to-day basis, which included eyeliner... recently I've started to really get back into
it as I've missed my winged eyeliner! I have had this eyeliner for nearly 1 year now and it's 3/4 finished
so it lasts an extremely long time without drying out! Not only that, it lasts all day without budging!

Benefit "that gal" brightening face primer sample - Full size £22.50 (Boots)

Now that it's spring everyone's craving that healthy summer glow, so I thought that this month I would take
"that gal" out for a test run, and i'm pleasantly surprised! it gives your skin a subtle glow and brightens
up your appearance, i'm a faithful benefit porefessional user but this may give it a run for it's money during
 the hotter months.

 L'occitane dry skin hand cream - £8.00 (L'occitane website)

My hand savior. This stuff goes everywhere with me, university, work... everywhere! I get extremely
dry hands in the colder months and this helped get rid of my tight, dry skin within a day... hoorah!

Do you have any favorites this month?

My first MAC lipstick | Thoughts and review

MAC lipstick - 'Shy Girl' £14.00
In January, I decided to pluck up the courage and buy my first mac lipstick! I brought it in the shade
Shy Girl because I thought the peachy tone to the nude would compliment my skin tone better
First of all, can I just point out that these smell amazing? Vanilla is my all time favorite scent and these
Lipsticks smell like sugary sweet vanilla, mmmm... although if you're not a fan of lipsticks that have
a smell to them, the scent doesn't linger on your lips for more than a minute or so!
The application is creamy and soft so there's no uncomfortable tugging and streaky lipstick!
On myself, the lipstick lasts around 3 hours before I have to reapply and it doesn't wear off patchy

This is now my go to lipstick when I want to just chuck a colour on my lips, because it's simple and
doesn't wash me out and would I purchase more? most definitely! Although next time I'm going to be
much braver in my colour choice.
